Part of Downsizing Auction in Simpsonville (timed auction by Wardlow Auctions)

High bid $525.00

Status: Sold

Category: Other

Antique circa mid-1800's Springfield 1843 percussion rifle, likely .69 caliber, with a 42" barrel, 57.5" overall length. The right side of the lock has an Eagle motif over US stamp, and the top of the butt plate has a US mark. There is an unidentified cartouche on the left side of the stock above the trigger, with ramrod. Action functions correctly with two positions. Condition is considered fair, with some pitting and rust on the barrel and ramrod consistent with age. Since the two rifled are percussion and exempt from the background check, they may be picked up from the home. Location: Upstairs Bedroom
