Antique cash register marked for The National Cash Register Co. Dayton OH, featuring an ornate heavy brass case accented with floral garland motifs. Under the cash drawer there is documentation, marked with a serial number S-171258K, dating the machine to 1902, as well as service notes, detailing that it was factory rebuilt in 1922, and further serviced in 1975 by D. Y. Kline, Louisville Kentucky (with the associated sticker up on the cash signs). The upper case door opens to reveal some inner mechanics. The upper section of the register shows a set of dollar amount signs for displaying the total, over keys for tabulating the total. The drawer opens by inserting one of the interior keys into a slot, since the keys appear to stick. For accurate cash register function, the mechanics may require cleaning and maintenance.
