Antique oil painting depicting an older couple and a child observing an ornate figural fountain in a verdant garden. The fountain is depicted in an unconventional fashion with serpent spitting a vertical water jet, lion heads spraying water out of the sides of the basin, and a post formed from cherubs atop fish. Artist signed in brown in the lower right, believed to read H. Engel, and dated 1864. Framed in a gold tone wooden frame with a twist border. The canvas shows a small hole, as well as some surface wear round the edge of the frame border. Size: 17"w x 19.5"h Location: Den
