Category: ANTIQUE CLOCK
Antique, tall grandfathers clock with hand crafted case, moon face, 3 brass finials on top, slender columns flanking the arched glass door, weight driven, with pendulum, with key, and aged hand painted accenting on case and face. The face has Roman numeral numbers - note that the Roman numeral for 4 is IIII and that the VI (for 6) is upside down, both being indicative of older clocks. Some loss of paint on face. The clock does not run and the seller said it has not run for approximately 20-25 years. On the inside of the center door is a handwritten record of various names and dates. We believe the first date reads Ap. 28, 1866. Subsequent repairs are dated from 1877 - 1964. It is hard to make out the names. We also have copies of repair receipts for Oct. 1949 and Jan. 1973. We believe the clock originated in the NE United State, likely New Hampshire. Again, it is not running at this time. Size: 89"h x 20"w x 10"d
