The wanted poster for Eugenio Angelo La Mantia (1904-1985) is dated 1/15/36 and issued by the FBI, U.S. Dept. of Justice, John Edgar Hoover Director. Born in Sicily, he moved to the U.S. and became a member of the MIlwaukee crime family and was a known hitman during the 1920s and 30s and was reported to have operated in Youngstown, OH, New Orleans and Chicago. This poster is 8"x8" and is postmarked on the back Trenton N.J., Feb. 25, 1936, 3:30 PM. The poster has a remnants of a fold line in the middle and 3 staple holes at the top has been in protective plastic. It was temporarily removed from the protective holdings to enable clearer photography. The other poster is dated July 30, 1934 for Mrs. Marian Marr who had several aliases but was perhaps best known as Mrs. "Baby Face" Nelson. The poster is 8" x 8" and glued on to a piece of cardboard and thus we cannot see the backside. We consider this poster to be a reproduction as no one in their right mind would glue an authentic poster like this to anything.
